Hello everyone! Yes, I am luckily on time with this post. finally! I hope to keep posting every Sunday consistently, but I am sure there will be here and there where I wasn’t available or something. Now, onto the more important subject, I have an Illustration for Tales of Karnall! It turned out beautifully, and I’m very happy with it. Although, I do think I need to practice my backgrounds more.

I love how this style turned out, but I don’t think I’m going to be doing Tales of Karnall in this style, I’m planning for a more simplified style, depending more on mood and color. But I can’t help but wonder if I should do it like this.. What do you guys think?
But in anyways, I officially have 7 subscribers on my Channel! I am elated because one of these aren’t any of my family or friends, so I am really glad someone out there likes my art! Now, let’s talk a little bit about this illustration. How I went about this was pretty simple, I started with a Thumbnail, I only did one since I already had an idea of what I wanted to do. And then I did the sketch, I struggled a bit with the paw he’s lifting, and I honestly think I made that front leg a little too long, but it’s not too drastic. Then I went in and did the Line Art, I used the textured Pencil tool for the line art, I also used it for sketching, but I just darkened it. I don’t know, I just don’t really enjoy the solid lines of a pen tool or something, I liked how it looked softer and more organic with that pencil tool. And then, I started coloring. I didn’t do anything too complex at first, because I just wanted to plan out and get the colors right. Then I started putting in the details, like shading, textures and lighting. I honestly think lighting is one of my favorite parts of the process, it’s just so satisfying and relaxing to do, because there isn’t really too much pressure, all the hard stoffies is done and over with.
Why I did a Tales of Karnall Illustration is because I previously wanted to do an Illustration that included a wolf for my 4th video, so I decided it was just a perfect coincidence to turn it into a Tales of Karnall Illustration.
My favorite parts of this Illustration is obviously the lighting, but I was actually really happy about how the little stream turned out, and also I love how Kodiak turned out, I’m proud of his nose and overall anatomy. My least favorite parts of it is going to be the bushes and trees, I’m not really that happy about how it turned out, I think I could have put a little more detail in it, but it’s okay. And then in the small part between the two trees, there’s this weird thing going on with the shading, I just- I have no idea what happened there. And as I mentioned before, I struggled with the front leg of his, but as I also said, it isn’t too see-able.
I hope you guys enjoyed this week’s Ramble, and I sincerely hope you all have a good day!

Well done Danielle, I see what you’re saying about the paw. One idea would be to record one of your dogs when they’re walking then you can slowdown or pause the Vid to see what it should look like
Oh yes! That’s a very good idea, thank you!
