Thursday Rambles and Prompts!

Thursday Rambles and Prompts!

It’s been a while everyone, but a lot has happened for me in these weeks. My father has been in a crash. But he is doing really well. Today I’ll start with my decision that I’ll be doing a Thursday Ramble each week, so I won’t be so behind in posting something each week. I did some Drawing Prompts, because I was pretty bored and didn’t know what to draw, and plus I think prompts help you get out of your comfort zone and try new things.

Kitty-Cat!

The first prompt was Feline, and I was lazy so I just did a cat, nothing else that was interesting and feline, Like a lion. This was done digitally using Autodesk Sketchbook, a free drawing app, on my Ipad (That I share with my lil’ brother) Speaking of my brother, it was his birthday last week on Wednesday! Hooray, now, coming back to the subject;

I luv these three!

This Prompt was done traditionally, and the prompt was Group of Heroes, as you can see. I had fun thinking of characters for this small group of heroes. My favourite is the big guy on the left!

Samuel!

I also worked on Dawn, so, as you can see here I did some work on Samuel, trying to find a good fit of character to him.

Whaaat? Who is this?

I changed him up a bit here, I loved the idea of him having two scarves. But he still wasn’t feeling right, so I tried again;

He keeps changing! It’s too muuch!

Here I made him simpler, because I felt he wasn’t much into the fancy stuff. But I still wasn’t feeling right.

Woah! Hello new Samie!

Finally I got something that was better, I’ll still tweak him a bit, but this is definitely more of what I want. Then I did a ‘In their shoes’ challenge.

Nice weird fluff doll-thing

I did this so that I could understand him better, how it works is, without drawing the character you draw them, using their possessions. It helps you shape your character a lot! I’ll re-do this another time, really pushing myself to think of what he would have in his little bag.

Hmmmm

Now, last but not least, I drew a Dragon! This was just before I added in patterns and shading, I had so much fun drawing her, some thing so different but I love it!

WOAH! Dragon! Hide your jams!!

I am so happy with this, it was so much fun and it got me out of my lazy drawing. Lemme explain. For a while I have been drawing very simple, Like Bottle Keeper and the first designs of Samuel. But I’m not really into simple, I love details! It was good to have some sort of break, and it wasn’t bad to draw simple, I just didn’t want to stay in it too long because I draw a little more complicated, but I’ll definitely still draw simple here and there, because it’s so fun.

That’s all for this week everyone! Have a good weekend!
